OKX age requirement:
18+, your own ID.
Students aged 18+ can sign up; minors can’t. The ID must be yours, and you must live somewhere OKX serves. Cross these lines and you’ll fail verification at best — or get the account frozen.
What is the minimum age for OKX?
OKX’s terms require users to be at least 18, or the higher legal age in their country. OKX’s help center states that parental or guardian consent, financial circumstances or other reasons cannot be used to make an exception.
| Situation | Can sign up? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Under 18 | No | Verification will be rejected, even with parental consent |
| University student, 18+ | Yes | Verify with your own ID |
| Local age of majority above 18 | Local rule applies | The sign-up page shows the minimum age |

Tips for students
- Only use spare money — not rent, tuition or student loans.
- Never borrow to trade or to “win back” losses.
- Avoid signal groups promising guaranteed profits.
- Never lend or sell your bank account to people who want to “move funds” through it — that can be money laundering.
- Start small with spot before touching futures or leverage.
Which IDs does OKX accept?
| ID | Where | Tips |
|---|---|---|
| National ID card | Most regions | Clear front and back, unexpired |
| Passport | All regions | Photograph the full photo page |
| Driver’s license | Some countries | Only if offered on the verification page |
| Residence permit | Some countries | For long-term residents abroad |
The “issuing country” must match your ID; your country of residence is entered separately. The face check must be done live by the ID holder.
Can I use a parent’s or friend’s ID?
No.
- The account and funds legally belong to the ID holder.
- Recovery and some withdrawals require the ID holder’s face check.
- It breaks the user agreement and can get the account restricted.
- Lending or buying verified accounts to move funds for others can be a crime.
“Verified accounts for sale” are against the rules and can be reclaimed or frozen at any time.
Where you live is a requirement too
Besides age and ID, OKX checks your country or region of residence. OKX doesn’t serve some countries and regions, and available products differ by region. The sign-up page’s country list and the latest user agreement are final. Enter your residence truthfully — we don’t provide any way around regional restrictions.
